TERMS

These terms are the agreement between you and Wise Wolf LLC for BeatBlo¢ (“BeatBloc”). Creating an account means you accept them. Catalog Battles also have their own Official Rules, which are part of this agreement.

1Who we are

  • BeatBlo¢ is operated by Wise Wolf LLC, a California limited liability company based in Emeryville, California.

2Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By signing up you confirm you are 18 or older.
  • Catalog Battles are additionally restricted in certain states — see section 6.

3Your account

  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
  • You may not share your account or create multiple accounts.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4Blocs

  • Blocs are a virtual currency for use inside BeatBlo¢. Blocs are sold in bundles. Bonus Blocs may be included with larger purchases. Blocs have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for cash. They are not a bank deposit, not legal tender, and not an investment.
  • Blocs can be spent inside BeatBlo¢ on Catalog Battle entries, Cookin' Up cover charges, engineer sessions and tips. Sending a tip moves Blocs to another producer, less the platform fee in section 16. Blocs cannot otherwise be transferred between accounts.
  • Blocs cannot currently be redeemed for cash or for anything of monetary value outside BeatBlo¢. If we open cashouts, we will update these terms and tell you before the change takes effect.
  • Unused purchased Blocs may be refunded within 14 days of purchase if they have not been spent. Blocs won or earned through competition are not refundable.

5Free battles

  • Free battles are open to all eligible users at no cost. No Blocs are required and no purchase is necessary to participate.

6Catalog Battles

  • Catalog Battles are paid-entry skill competitions. Both producers pay the same entry in Blocs when the host locks the battle.
  • A panel of at least 3 verified judges scores each producer's beat on four criteria — Originality, Arrangement, Mix Quality and Bounce — from 1 to 10 each. Judges count for 80% of the final score and the crowd for 20%. The higher weighted score wins.
  • The winning producer's beat is purchased by Wise Wolf LLC at the tier price as a non-exclusive license — see section 7.
  • Catalog Battles are skill contests modeled on established songwriting competitions. They are not gambling. The entry is consumed when the battle locks regardless of outcome, and the prize is a beat purchase, not a transfer of the other producer's entry.
  • Void where prohibited. Residents of, and anyone physically located in, Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Louisiana, Montana, South Carolina, South Dakota and Tennessee may not enter a Catalog Battle. This list may be updated without notice; the current list is always the one on this page and in the Official Rules.

7Beat purchases and licensing

  • When Wise Wolf LLC purchases a winning beat, you grant Wise Wolf LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to reproduce, distribute, synchronize and publicly perform that beat.
  • You keep ownership and may continue selling or licensing the beat elsewhere.
  • You represent that the beat is your original work and does not infringe anyone else's rights.
  • A purchase offer expires if it is not accepted within 7 days.

8Cookin' Up and live sessions

  • Hosts may charge a cover in Blocs for viewers to enter a Cookin' Up room. The host receives the cover less the platform fee in section 16.
  • A cover is paid once per room and is non-refundable once you have entered — including if you leave early or the host ends the session — except at the host's discretion or if we close the room for moderation reasons.

9Engineer sessions

  • Engineer sessions are billed by confirmed time. Both the engineer and the artist confirm the end of a session before payment settles.
  • Disputes are handled by BeatBlo¢ support.

10Tips

  • Tips are voluntary payments from one producer to another. Tips are non-refundable.
  • Tips carry the same platform fee as Catalog Battle entries and cover charges — see section 16. The recipient receives the tip less that fee, which is shown to you before you send.
  • You cannot tip a judge of a live battle, or your own live opponent.

11Your content

  • You keep ownership of the beats, posts, photos and audio you upload.
  • By uploading, you grant Wise Wolf LLC a non-exclusive license to display and distribute that content within BeatBlo¢.
  • Your profile, your public posts, and the rooms and battles you take part in are visible to other people and, in some cases, to visitors who are not signed in.
  • You represent that you own or have the right to upload anything you post. Do not upload beats that sample copyrighted material without a license.

12Copyright and DMCA

  • To submit a copyright takedown notice, email support@beatbloc.com with the subject line “DMCA Notice”. Include a description of the work, the location of the infringing content and your contact details. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
  • We have registered a designated agent with the U.S. Copyright Office. Their details are on the DMCA page.

13Community rules

  • Do not post or broadcast content that is hateful, racist, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit or violent. Do not impersonate anyone.
  • We may remove content and suspend or permanently ban accounts that break these rules, without notice and without refund.

14Prohibited conduct

  • Do not manipulate battle outcomes, create fake or duplicate accounts, collude with judges, submit someone else's beats as your own, or scrape or reverse-engineer BeatBlo¢.

15Payouts

  • Catalog Battle purchases are paid after a clearing period and require identity verification through our payment processor.
  • We may hold or void a payout connected to a disputed payment, a chargeback or fraudulent activity.

16Platform fees

  • BeatBlo¢ keeps a fee on Catalog Battle entries, Cookin' Up cover charges and tips: 10% under 50 Blocs, 8% from 50 to 250 Blocs, and 5% above 250 Blocs. The fee that applies is shown before you pay.

17Disclaimer

  • BeatBlo¢ is provided as-is. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, any particular battle outcome, or that everything posted on the platform is accurate or appropriate.

18Limitation of liability

  • Wise Wolf LLC's liability to you for any claim arising from your use of BeatBlo¢ is limited to the amount you paid Wise Wolf LLC in the 30 days before the claim arose.

19Governing law

  • These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Disputes will be resolved in Alameda County, California.

20Changes

  • We may update these terms. Continuing to use BeatBlo¢ after an update means you accept the new terms.
